Y’all. We’ve had like 2 days straight of sickness within the Chunky Chef household. Everybody has already established some kind of virus, and we’ve all passed them around, regardless of the number of occasions I clean, sanitize and lysol the home. To state we’re looking for some comfort food is a big understatement!!

Plus, it’s exactly that season right? The elements is cooling lower, it will get dark sooner… it’s totally here we are at comfort!

This chicken and biscuits recipe is directly from my buddies D and Chad’s new cook book, The Straightforward Kitchen. They blog at The Slow Roasted Italian. This really is their first cook book, after studying that one, I’m SURE it’ll be considered a huge hit. I am talking about, page after page of fantastic recipes! I’d a really difficult time narrowing lower which recipe to express all. I chosen that one, as being a Midwestern woman myself, because it’s not only a real lower-home type of meal, only one I hadn’t really designed for myself before.

Maybe you have had classic chicken and biscuits before? It’s typically a Midwestern and Southern dish, but I’m sure it’s a popular among other parts of the nation too It’s kind of like chicken and dumplings, however with golden brown biscuits! Which, for me, is more preferable! But on the other hand, I’m totally biscuit obsessed… especially these!

D and Chad’s cook book boasts “quick and simple recipes full of flavor”, and man, they aren’t kidding! I’ve attempted another chicken and biscuits before, and they could be a tad bland, although not that one. It’s perfectly seasoned with lots of mouthwatering flavors!

This recipe is another half hour meal, which is ideal for this season too. We’re all crazy busy essentially from now until The month of january, so a house cooked meal in half an hour? Sign me up! Plus, except for the biscuits being included a bowl, this dish cooks in a single pan! So less dishes to wash up, and fewer amount of time in the kitchen… meaning additional time to invest with the family! Win, win, win!
